UNIDO: 18TH SESSION

The 18th session of the General Conference of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was held from November 3–7, 2019, at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

As UNIDO’s supreme policy-making organ, the General Conference gathers Member States every two years to shape global industrial development strategies. The theme for 2019, “Industry 2030 – Innovate. Connect. Transform our Future,” focused on advancing innovation and sustainable industrial development.

Evolution was appointed to deliver the exhibition space, a centerpiece of the event, transforming the Emirates Palace atrium into an engaging and interactive experience. By combining creative design, innovative technology, and precise execution, Evolution ensured the exhibition became a highlight of the conference.

Interactive Exhibition Design and Seamless Execution

• Designed and produced seven themed hubs to highlight key topics and programs of UNIDO, including:
  • Gender, Youth & Entrepreneurship
  • Circular Economy
  • Industry 4.0
  • Industrial Parks
  • Sustainable Energy
  • Partnership Hub
• Equipped each hub with interactive elements, including programmed touchscreens, iPads with personal headsets, AI stations, and large screens, creating an engaging and educational experience for attendees.
• Transformed the Emirates Palace atrium with scenic panels, creating a functional and visually striking space for the exhibition while ensuring sufficient room for guests to interact with the hubs.
• Created a dedicated gallery for Elisabetta Lattanzio Illy’s photo exhibition, “Transforming needle and thread into women empowerment tools,” further enhancing the event’s cultural and social significance.
• Provided on-site support with a dedicated team for the five-day event, ensuring seamless operations and addressing client needs in real time.

The 18th session of the UNIDO General Conference was a resounding success, with the exhibition space serving as a key feature of the event.

Evolution’s ability to combine innovative design with interactive technology ensured an engaging and impactful experience that aligned with the event’s theme of sustainable industrial transformation.
